Arab Engineering Bureau (AEB) is an award-winning firm which was founded in 1966 as the first architectural and engineering consulting firm in Qatar. Currently AEB operates across the Middle East (Doha, Abu Dhabi, and Muscat) and South East Asia (Manila, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok).
AEB draws on the strengths of a unique architectural methodology, established by GCEO and Chief Architect Ibrahim M. Jaidah. Its focus is on the present development of the country, and, where appropriate, the firm preserves and articulates traditional architecture. The firm’s approach is grounded in the search for contextually appropriate and environmentally sustainable solutions. Diversity is AEB’s strength, an ability to translate the potential into a reality. AEB designs interpret culture, economy, community, and the representation of each individual factor within the architecture.
With a growing number of LEED and GSAS projects in its portfolio, the firm considers every project to be a benefactor to a sustainable environment, local economy and community. What firm does now, echoes into the future generations, and because of this AEB stands as an ambassador, for promoting the design of sustainable cities. Accordingly, AEB has been one of the first local GSAS Service Providers and a member of the USGBC. In 2011 the firm officially became a Founding Organisation of the Qatar Green Building Council.
