Cherubino Gambardella was born in Naples in 1962. He is an architect, was professor of architectural design at the University of Camerino in 2000 and since 2003 has taught at the Seconda Università in Naples. He has taught at several Italian universities (Rome, Naples, Ascoli Piceno, Venice) and has lectured and held conferences at Cornell University, the Eth in Zurich and the Catholic University of Washington. He has established himself through winning several awards and international competitions.
He has participated on several occasions in the International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale and his projects have been exhibited in numerous museums and foundations as well as published in the most authoritative international architecture journals such as The Architectural Review, Mark magazine, Metropolis, Domus, A+U architecture and urbanism, Arquitectura Viva, World Architecture, Frame, A10, Detail, Lotus, Abitare, Area, Materia, Casabella and Future.
Five monographs have been devoted to his work.
In 2012 he coordinated the winning group of the competition to design the Padiglioni dei Paesi Mediterranei at EXPO Milan 2015 and in 2013 he was one of twenty international architects invited to the MOMA in New York to exhibit two architectural drawings in the CUT’n Paste exhibition on design and collage among the new players in contemporary architecture.
In 2015 he is presenting Supernapoli at the Milan Triennale.
