MIMARLAR VE HAN TÜMERTEKİN

Mimarlar ve Han Tümertekin, founded in Istanbul in 1986, believes that “It is not the answer, but the questions that would lead a design.” Therefore, in every project it tries to concentrate on how to define “the” problem. Once the problem is defined; the practice’s approach will be concerned with simple, mundane, easy to use, low-maintenance, and emotive designs. In addition to Istanbul, Atelier Han Tümertekin is settled in Strasbourg in 2014.
Over the years, practice’s production has achieved high visibility in the architecture/design world, such as international publications, magazines and books. Tümertekin teaches in various Universities, as a lecturer, jury member and workshop tutor. Winner of various awards, including the Aga Khan, Tümertekin is a member of the awards steering committee.
