NIKIFORIDIS-CUOMO ARCHITECTS

Prodromos Nikiforidis and Bernard Cuomo cooperate since 1991.
In their most notable projects they include: the residential building in Paris (1992-1994) , the Cultural Center and Theatre in Menemeni (Thessaloniki, 1997), the Technopolis Building in Pylea (Thessaloniki, 2006-2009), the New Waterfront of Thessaloniki (2000-2014) and the building of the Treasury of the Bank of Greece in Thessaloniki (2001-2009).
By participating in architectural competitions they have received various distinctions and awards, as the 1st prize in European 2 in 1991 and for the redesign of the Monumental Axis of Aristotelous in Thessaloniki in 1997; the 1st prize in the architectural competition for the redevelopment of the New Waterfront of Thessaloniki in 2001 and for the Academy of Arts and Culture of the Municipality of Kalamaria in Thessaloniki in 2003; the 1st appraisal in the architectural competition Re-think Athens in 2013 and in the architectural competition for the redevelopment of the littoral zone of Neapoli in Monemvasia in 2015, and others.
In 2009 they were awarded by the Greek Institute of Architecture for their architectural work during 2004-2008. In 2014 they received the UIA -International Union of Architects- prize friendly spaces accessible to all for the redevelopment of the New Waterfront of Thessaloniki. In 2015 they were finalist for the European Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award with the project of the redevelopment of the New Waterfront of Thessaloniki.
