Topiaris was established as a landscape architecture office in 1986. Teresa Barão and Luís Ribeiro belong to the initial founding group joined by Catarina Viana (1995).
With headquarters in Lisbon, Topiaris includes landscape architects who share identical ethics and moral values. As a group, it is foster a constantly challenge to expand trade’s frontiers and to attain excellence in the planning, design, requalification and preservation of landscapes. Creativity is combined with sustainable solutions so to create landscapes for the present and future generations.
Topiaris has been growing significantly and steadily. In the last few years, our activity has reached new markets namely, East Timor, Angola, Cape Verde, Mozambique, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Senegal. Currently in progress are projects for residential developments in Switzerland.
With ambition and a broad scope of intervention, ranging from regional and urban planning to large and small scale public and private projects, from historical sites to contemporary landscapes, the team believe and defend a holistic and multidisciplinary approach. Thus favouring the integration of specialists from different areas of expertise into our projects, as well as the interaction with clients, in the conviction that everyone has a relevant role to play in building the character and identity of spaces under design and construction.
