Camillo Botticini is professor of architectural design at the Escuela de Arquitectura de l’Universidad de Navarra and at the Milan Polytechnic, where in 2003 he obtained a PHD in Architectonic and Urban Design. He won international competitions and realized many different types of architecture in Italy and Europe pointing up the ability to merge the theoretical research with a significant operational capability. He received important awards: the Italian Gold Medal 2012 special prize and the first prize of the Italian Institute of Architecture in 2007. He was selected in Mies van der Rohe prize 2007 and his works were exhibited at the Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2000, 2010 and 2014. His works were published in the most important architectural magazines (Casabella, Domus, A10, Metalocus, Detail, Mark, Abitare) and in books like the Phaidon Atlas of XXI Century Architecture.
In 2015 Camillo Botticini founded with the architect Matteo Facchinelli the company called ARW Architectural Research Workshop. A workshop that turns any particular occasion into a reflection and into a statement about the reasons and meaning of architecture. ARW proposes an architecture capable of summarizing contemporary world’s complexity into a clear, essential, necessary outcome.
