Tomecek Studio Architecture approaches design with the intention of crafting spaces that reflect the intimacy and poetics of making while exploring systems through which we shape architecture. Light and space are the built mediums, coupled with an intense design process focused on the exploration of materiality, space-making and the spirit of place. Working at various scales, with a multitude of construction techniques, we use the human body as our testing ground.
Focusing on experience, site and the lasting impression of memory, Tomecek Studio crafts spaces specific to our unique clients and their sites.
Within the art of building, the human hand (of the craftsman, the architect and the client) has an intense connection and impact in the way we work and live.
At Tomecek Studio, collaboration between architect and craftsmen, breeds a creative environment in which appropriate and meaningful solutions are manifest.
We pride ourselves on our methodical research, allowing time, theory and nature to drive our design process.
Exploring through making models, sketches and research-driven testing allows us to create a lineage of ideas that has become the milieu of our design philosophy.
Continuing the iterative design approach through construction, Tomecek Studio excels in our position of not relying on the status quo in terms of standard ways we build.
