Monterroso is a small village in the interior of the province of Lugo, Spain.
The property occupies the whole of the plot. Urban Streets to the East and South and a small green area shared with the bus station to the West. Both the existing slope, and the location of the station suggest us access, level, by the southwest corner, so that the building collapses slightly and favors not only the sunlight of upper Street, but read as “tapia”, more chord in a matter of scale with the rural environment in which we find ourselves. This access floor inside, towards the South, pediatrics, northward, consultations and reception with ancillary services back. Two volumes emerge from the compact construction; the private medical area, with a gap above the main entrance, and a skylight in the West elevation. Four courtyards moderate contact with the outside. In the plant basement are areas of women, physiotherapy, dentistry and facilities, lighted and ventilated by these patios to favour the intimacy of views.
A continuous slate skin covers façades and roofs, with steel galvanized in access, patios and major gaps, strategic breaks and contrasts with the warm interior lined in oak.
