The project entails a complete interior renovation of a former industrial building in one of Milan’s most vibrant districts.
Park Associati encourages the visual continuity and strong interconnection of the space (2.500sqm), divided according to the different functions – home accessories retail, Japanese cuisine restoration, co-working, and event venue.
The interior design valorises the building’s geometric language, by introducing rational references to the former wallpaper workshop. The industrial soul transpires through the wide open-spaces, the shed roofs, the exposed systems, and the use of simple finishing materials and neon lighting.
Park Associati defines a precise common language that generates a sequence of familiar, innovative and comfortable spaces. The aim is to promote synergies and interaction, in the belief that the buying, working and catering experiences can enrich one another.
The retail area’s identity is enhanced by the large windows overlooking tailor made exhibition elements, the plants, and the ceiling’s neon lighting system. The materials mostly used are iron, also used to create independent structures, and cherry wood, chosen for its connection to the Japanese tradition. For the floor, a welcoming but strong industrial parquet with shades of walnut or concrete is used.
Enhancing the interchangeability of the different functions and bringing together Japanese aesthetic taste and Milanese design, Tenoha Milano represents a new concept for the city.
